Hansel and Gretel, witch-hunters

Will Ferrell and the director of Dead Snow, Tommy Wirkola, have apparently teamed up on a new project: the story of Hansel and Gretel 15 years after their first encounter with the witch in the gingerbread house. Naturally, when they grow up, they become full-fledged witch hunters.

The new movie, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters will be written and directed by Snow's Tommy Wirkola, and produced by Ferrell and partner Adam McKay's production company, Gary Sanchez Productions. Picking up on the non-eaten twins fifteen years after their more famous story ends, the movie will mix the traditional with the... slightly more unexpected, explains McKay:

"The idea is, they've grown up and they hunt witches... It's a hybrid sort of old-timey feeling, yet there's pump-action shotguns. Modern technology but in an old style."
